Who we are

Kaloqa is a local discovery app that helps you find places worth going to — restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and experiences — based on what locals actually recommend. We are operated by Kronologix LLC ("we," "us," or "our").

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Email address — used to send you a sign-in link. We do not store your password because we do not use passwords.
  • Display name — optional name you set during onboarding.
  • Age confirmation — if you access drink venue recommendations, you will be asked to confirm you are 21 or older. We record only that you confirmed, not your date of birth. We do not verify age independently and rely on your honest acknowledgment.
  • Home city — the city you set as your base for local recommendations.
  • Feedback and tips — any text you submit through the feedback form or place tips feature.
  • Business interest — if you tell us in Settings that you own a local business, we record that flag against your account and use your account email to contact you when business features launch. This requires an account — the flag has no effect until you're signed in. Turn it off anytime in Settings.

Information we collect automatically

  • Location — your GPS coordinates, used to find places near you at the moment of each search and to check regional availability. We do not build a continuous location history tied to your identity. In a few specific cases we do retain a coordinate: if you manually set your location or home city, we save it on your device so you don't have to re-enter it; and if you dismiss the international-access notice without signing up, we log an anonymous, one-time coordinate (not linked to your account or email) to help us understand where to expand next.
  • Usage data — actions you take in the app (searches performed, places tapped, "Go" taps). Stored anonymously or linked to your account to improve recommendations, and separately sent to Firebase Analytics (Google) for app performance and engagement measurement.
  • Device identifier — a unique ID for your device, used for push notification delivery and to link usage data to your account when you sign in.
  • Push notification token — if you grant permission, used to send you place-related nudges. You can disable this in your device settings at any time.

Information about places you visit

  • Journey entries — when you tap "Go" on a place, we create a record. You can confirm, edit, or delete these from your My Kaloqa tab. This data is never shared publicly without your explicit action.
  • Picks — places you save by tapping the heart. Visible only to you unless you choose to share your public Picks page.
  • Community photos — photos you upload of a place's front or interior. These are public and visible to anyone viewing that place's card once approved. We retain an internal link to your account for photos you upload, even though it is not shown publicly, so we can attribute a photo if a dispute arises. You can delete your own community photos at any time.

How we use your information

  • Deliver and improve place recommendations
  • Send sign-in links to your email
  • Verify age acknowledgment for age-restricted content (drinks, 21+)
  • Send optional push notifications about your recent visits
  • Understand how the app is being used so we can improve it
  • Respond to feedback you submit
  • Email you about business features, only if you've told us you own a local business

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your data to anyone.

  • Account data — kept as long as your account is active.

When you delete your account, it is deactivated immediately. Your profile, journey entries, picks, photos, and linked personal data are permanently erased in a scheduled process that runs after a 30-day window — this gives you time to change your mind by signing back in. If erasure is ever delayed beyond 30 days due to a processing error, we investigate and complete it as soon as possible.
